67th Cherry Blossoms Festival at Royal Hawaiian Center

The third public appearance by the Contestants and the Queen and Court was held at the Royal Hawaiian Center. The 66th Cherry Blossom Festival Queen and Court shared their festival experiences by answering questions on Japanese culture. Through this question and answer experience, each contestant gained valuable practice in sharpening her public speaking skills, developing her poise and increasing her self-confidence.

The Queen Contestants at the 67th Cherry Blossoms Festival event are Reeann Minatoya, Ariel Lee, Jacqueline Arelliano, Michelle Chen, Lauren Sugai, Taylor Chee, Katrina Shimomura, Kayla Ueshiro, Jaimee Sambrano, Kallista Hiraoka, Kalei Kagawa.

The Cherry Blossom Festival holds the honor of being one of the longest, continually running ethnic festival in the State of Hawai‘i – originally started in 1953. While times have evolved, the purpose of the Festival continues to be the perpetuation of Japanese culture, and to enrich the lives of young women of Japanese ancestry.
