Chinese New Years Celebration 2019

The Chinese New Year Celebration Friday event presented by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii was held at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza in Chinatown Honolulu.

The family-friendly event featured food and craft booths, live entertainment, special cultural performances, lion and dragon dances, lion dancing on poles, and more. 2019 Narcissus Queen and her court, along with various lion dance groups, visited stores throughout Chinatown to wish them good luck for the new year as part of a traditional New Year’s blessing known as Choy Cheng.

Among the speakers present at this event were Joseph K.M. Hu, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, and Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell.

The Chinatown Cultural Plaza is located at 100 North Beretania Street in Honolulu.
