Hawaii Youth Symphony at Salt Kaka’ako

Hawaii Youth Symphony and Pacific Music Institute presented a free concert performed by Youth Symphony II, with conductors Susan Ochi-Onishi and Elton Masaki. Over 90 of Hawaii’s top young musicians from the Hawaii Youth Symphony performed in The Barn at SALT at Our Kakaako on Sunday October 13.

Among the selections performed in The Barn include G. Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” Overture, Pat Metheny’s “Phase Dance”, G. Bizet’s “Carmen Suite”, Fedor Vrtacnik’s “Between East & West”, and Stephen Schwartz “The Prince of Egypt.”

The concert was presented in partnership with SALT at Our Kaka’ako. Hawaii Youth Symphony’s mission is to help youth develop to their fullest potential through orchestral music, in the setting of our Islands’ unique culture.
