NamiWalks Oahu at Civic Grounds

NAMI Hawaii hosted a community walk last Saturday October 12, which started at the Honolulu Hale / Civic Grounds park. The community walk spanned a distance of five kilometers and started at 9am. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the NAMIWalk was organized to raise awareness of mental illness while giving individuals an opportunity to grow and learn from their shared experiences.

In 2019, NAMI is celebrating 17 years of NAMIWalks, the nation’s largest mental health awareness and fundraising event. NAMI invites the public to join any of their close to 100 community walks. NAMIWalks is a fun, family-friendly event and there is no cost to register. By participating in NAMIWalks, individuals will be joining NAMI’s movement to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for our mission to help individuals and families right here in our region.
