Miss Chinatown Hawaii at Ala Moana

The Miss Chinatown Hawaii 2020 contestants made a final appearance at the Ala Moana Centerstage on Saturday September 28 before their upcoming Hawaii pageant. The event opened with a traditional lion dance show. The Miss Chinatown Hawaii 2020 contestants are Ashley Ben, Kristine Chen, Courtney Choy, Lily Dai, Anna Davide, Liqu Huang, Leeonda Lee, Jocelyn Louie, Nikki Miller, Leilani Pasco, Makaala Perry, and Tracy Wong.
The Miss Chinatown Hawaii pageant is a cultural and scholarship pageant, as well as preliminaries to the national Miss Chinatown USA pageant and the Miss Hawaii pageant. The Miss Chinatown USA pageant is held annually in San Francisco, California during the two-week Lunar New Year celebration. Since 1979, more than half of the Hawaii queens have won the coveted title of Miss Chinatown USA or Princess.

The Miss Hawaii pageant is a preliminary to the legendary Miss America pageant, which provides more scholarships to young women than any other pageant in the world. Since the Miss Chinatown Hawaii Organization began participating in this pageant, more than half of our Miss Chinatown Hawaii Queens have been named top 10 finalists, including our Miss Chinatown Hawaii 2013 Crystal Lee, who took home the prestigious Miss Hawaii 2013 title

The Miss Chinatown Hawaii and Miss Hawaii Chinese Queens represent the Chinese community in Hawaii, and specifically Chinatown in Honolulu. Founded by the Honolulu Chinese Jaycees in 1977, the Miss Chinatown Hawaii Pageant was designed as a two-part program — first, to seek young women of Chinese ancestry to represent the Chinese Community in Hawaii and secondly, to prepare the Miss Chinatown Hawaii Queen to compete for the National Title as the “Miss Chinatown USA” With more awareness and recognition than ever before, the pageant continues to grow as Hawaii’s premiere pageant for women of Chinese descent.
